Preparing for Your Fishing Charter

2025 Fishing Outlook

January – March We are catching chinook in the 5-15 pound range. The results have been excellent so far.

April/May Fishing for chinook these months is closed for retention. We are focused on taking DNA samples to help with future fishing opportunities.

June Coho Salmon fishing gets going. Lots of action for these scrappy fish. We average hooking 20 per trip.

July – August Pink, Coho salmon runs are feeding in the area prior to heading up their native rivers to spawn, lots of action on these fisheries. Chinook opens July 15th for a retention of 1 per person, slot size of 62-80cm. We recommend a longer trip for the best opportunity.

September – October Chinook Salmon opens for 2 per day with no maximum slot size. 7-9 hour charter is recommended. Coho salmon fishing is also excellent during these months.

November – December We are targeting Chinook salmon that winter in local waters foraging on herring and anchovy.

Gulf Islands Chinook Fishing Trips will be operating July 15 – August 31st. Requires a 9 hour charter plus fuel surcharge. Please ask us for more details.

For Halibut, Rock Cod or Lingcod we recommend booking a trip on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Let us know if you’d like a recommendation where and when to go.
